Excessive fatigue

Now that I have my road bike, I've been going biking with some friends three times a week. I'm still slow, and they wait for me at the top of the hills, but I'm getting better. A week or two ago they invited me to come swimming with them twice a week. I love swimming, and I used to go for a mile just for fun, so I said sure. Yesterday was my third time, and we went for 29 laps. But we do all this at 6:00 AM. SIX A.M.!! I'm normally a late owl, so six comes pretty early for me. I don't think I've gotten up this early this consistently since seminary, actually. Yesterday afternoon I went to my gym to lift a little. While I was there I decided if I was biking and swimming, I should work a little on being able to run... So I walked, then jogged, then walked, then jogged for about thirty minutes. Well, I was exhausted afterwards. (To borrow one of Paige's phrases..."No duh!")

That evening my eye started twitching. It was the first time it's ever happened to me before, and it was getting pretty annoying. I looked up eye twitching online, and one of the reasons was excessive fatigue. HA!

It also mentioned that it had genetic tendencies, so I called my mom and asked her she'd ever had twitchy eyes. Well, she was surprised that I was asking, because her eye was twitching at that very moment and was totally bugging her. We had a good laugh at the coincidence. :)

Lightning

Lightning always reminds me of summers from my childhood. No matter where we lived, we'd always spend part of our summer here in Utah visiting. My grandparents had a house on the Provo bench, and they had a big window overlooking the valley. When there was a storm, we'd look out over the whole valley and watch the lightning. Grandpa usually gave us a physics lesson on the speed of sound, and we'd count the seconds between the flash and the boom. (If you were wondering, every five seconds is about a mile away...)

So Paige and I were counting the seconds tonight during the storm, and thinking of Grandpa Woodbury.

Summer!!

Yesterday was the last day of school for my kids, and today we are going to stay home and not go anywhere! Just bask in the languor of a day without activities. Yay!

Busy, busy....

I feel like my head is going to explode. I've got about a million things to do, and need to be in many places at the same time. My brain is so full of what I need to do when, that I'm double and triple booking myself, and not realizing 'til way too late. So if I'm forgetting anything, or anyone, I'm sorry...
